![]() Garmin Express is loaded on Toshiba and Dell but not Mac (Dell wouldn’t connect with GPS until I loaded Garmin Express but Mac seems to manage without it). Thanking you beforehand for your assistance and response. In Auto-detect mode, only the Mac and Toshiba show a connection in Finder/Explorer but the connection does show up in Basecamp on Dell (both in auto-detect and mass storage modes). Try connecting the device to a different USB port ( see video below) Avoid connecting through a USB hub, USB extension cable, keyboard, or monitor. Is there a way to get the new European maps utilizing the D format and installing it on the NUVI 2689 or can someone identify for me a NUVI 6 Inch that utilizes the gmapprom system so that I can keep my GPS up todate with the North America and European Maps. Plug the USB cable directly into the device ( see video below) Plugging the USB cable into the mount on the device will not allow the computer to recognize the device. I tried to install but never got it to work. The North European portion is only in the gmapprom format. I have downloaded the D version but only got the South European portion. The 2689 does not use the gmapprom image but some system beginning with the letter D. ![]() Adding the new Eurpoean maps to my previous NUVI was a piece of cake as it utilized the gmapprom image. Map is not even recognized on Garmin Express. But I was wrong as Garmin gives no support whatsoever for separately purchased maps. ![]() Purchased NUVI 2689 LMT and then purchased a European Map thinking that it would be updated automatically with my North America Map.
